Hodges University

The Mission of the Hispanic Institute at Hodges University is to be recognized as a leader within Lee and Collier Counties, to inform policy-makers about issues vital to the growing Hispanic community, and to provide the community with information and analysis necessary for effective participation in public policy development.

• To provide a forum for public policy matters and to promote a better understanding of the political process and public policy and how that impacts the Hispanic Community.
• To understand the educational needs of Hispanic students and promote solutions and/or opportunities to address these needs.
• To undertake research projects that expand an overall awareness of the Hispanic community’s needs.
• To provide educational workshops and seminars which facilitate greater understanding, mutual appreciation, collaboration and interaction between Hispanics and Non-Hispanics.

A Civic Engagement Forum was held March 9th, 2012 on our Fort Myers campus.  Ray Judah, Sharon Harrington, John Manning, Tammy Hall, Ken Wilkinson, and Linda Doggett served as panelists.  Click here to view a video of this informative event.
